UL1581 Vertical Horizontal Flammability Testing Equipment / Combustion Test Chamber
1. Application
This machine is applied to test the fire resistance of PE, PVC and SRPVC.
2. Standards
UL1581, VW-1 of UL1581, UL758, UL13, UL444, UL1655 and FT-1 of CSA.
3. Usage and Composition
(1) This equipment is applicable to the determination of non-delay performance of wires under direct combustion of prescribed sources.
(2) The equipment consists of control box, vertical air box, horizontal air box, combustion nozzle, solenoid valve, high-pressure igniter, wire sample fixture, gas pipe, gas source, internal and external flame regulator, signal control line. The whole process of the machine is fully automatic, such as: electronic ignition, stop-fire time, combustion time, combustion times can be automatically completed.
4. Control Box
(1) The number of combustion counters is used for preset combustion times, and the red button is the "reset (Reset)" key.
(2) Combustion time is controlled by a time controller, which can be set to S (seconds), M (minutes), H (hours) according to the need; for example, set 00S01 to 0.01 seconds, 15S00 to 15 seconds, 10M00 to 10 minutes (refer to the time relay instruction); Stop time is set with the combustion time setting. It can also be used for manual control of burning time.
The power switch is the whole power switch of the control box.
The switch can be manually or automatically selected according to actual needs. When the switch is in the manual state, it must be timed by a stopwatch. When it reaches the test time, it can be stopped by pressing the reset switch.
5. The Technical Performance of Equipment
(1) All technical indicators meet the UL1581 standards.
(2) High purity liquefied petroleum gas is used for combustion gases.
(3) Nozzle inner diameter: 0.375 inches (9.5 mm).
(4) Metal shield: 12 inches wide (305 mm) * 14 inches deep (355 mm) * 24 inches high (610 mm).
(5) The vertical combustion test is tested by wire and cable length: 18 inches (457 mm).
The horizontal combustion test was tested on wire and cable length: 24 inches (610 mm).
6. Test method
1. Before the test, connect the pressure regulating valve for the rubber hose of the liquefied petroleum tank, then connect the signal control line, connect the power switch of the control box, check the connection correctly, and pay attention to the leakage. If there is no air leakage, switch the power switch to the open position. Open the cylinder main valve, turn on the regulator switch, and the pressure indicator of the acetylene pressure reducing valve should be 0.01-0.02 Mpa (this is the working pressure of the exhaust). If the pressure exceeds 0.02 Mpa, it will be dangerous and may leak.
2. After the test, the power switch and the cylinder main valve should be turned off to confirm that there is no burning substance igniting before leaving.
